Search Saline County Recent Arrests

Want to know who was arrested in Saline County? The jail roster comes first. It shows people booked into county custody. From there, the search branches out. Released inmates, court results, and state prisoners each live in a different system, so every stage of a case has its own record keeper. Anyone hunting Saline County mugshots should also learn the gap between an official booking photograph and a copied image floating around online. Saline County recent arrests touch all of these places at once.

Track Saline County Recent Arrests

Benton sits at the center of Saline County booking activity. The Saline County Detention Center takes in nearly everyone the sheriff's deputies arrest. The Saline County Sheriff's Office posts an official inmate-roster landing page. It opens an embedded roster of people currently held. Start there. It is the quickest way to see who is in custody in Saline County today.

The office itself cautions users. Its disclaimer says the roster is posted for convenience. It cannot be certified for accuracy or authenticity. So treat each entry as a live snapshot, not a settled record.

No separate Saline County "booked today" feed exists from official channels. Sheriff press releases count as agency news rather than an arrest log. The roster interface also limits casual browsing. Its exact update cycle and photo behavior stay unclear. Call the jail if a booking detail matters.

Need same-day detail? Arrested Today carries it. For the multi-day blotter and archive pattern, Arrest Reports maps the ground. Each window answers a different question, and neither a blank roster result nor a missing news post means no Saline County arrest happened.

Who Was Arrested in Saline County

A same-day search works like a ladder. Check the roster first. If intake is still processing, call the jail. The Detention Center answers at (501) 303-5642. The sheriff's non-emergency line, (501) 303-5648, helps when the arresting or holding agency is unclear. Arkansas VINE can track a qualifying custody record too, though its statewide transfer schedule offers no guarantee that a Saline County record appears right away.

City police and the county jail serve different roles. Benton, Bryant, or Shannon Hills police may hold the initiating incident or arrest report. The sheriff holds the county booking record. Once a person enters the Saline County Detention Center, custody belongs to SCSO. If the person has been released or never shows online, a focused request can still recover the booking.

Why can someone vanish from the roster? Release, transfer, a spelling mismatch, delayed intake, a withheld record, or a move to another custody system can all explain an absence. Don't guess from an empty result. Confirm the status with the jail before drawing any conclusion about a Saline County arrest.

Search the Saline County Jail Roster

The official roster covers people in or linked to Saline County Detention Center custody. It stops there. Federal inmates, immigration detainees, state prisoners, city citations, and released people fall outside it. The public landing page does not list its search fields. Use only the fields the live portal actually offers.

Booking numberDistinguishes separate jail intakesMust come from the jail or another record
Booking dateNarrows a request or result reviewMay differ from an incident date

Use a short process when the portal responds:

  1. Open the county roster landing page and follow its embedded roster link.
  2. Enter the person’s known name and compare any booking date or number shown.
  3. Read the custody state and charge label as separate fields. A hold may arise from court, ADC, or another agency.
  4. Call the Detention Center when timing matters or the portal gives no result.
  5. Use the SCSO form for a releasable record or photograph that is not online.

The county lists no update interval or archive depth. Nor does it promise a photo with every roster result. Statutory retention keeps a jail record on file. But that record is a different animal from the public web roster.

The official roster source appears below, shown as the county presents it.

Saline Booking Labels Change Meaning

Local booking posts split "BOOKED" from "RELEASED" entries. Other labels appear too. "HOLD FOR COURT," "HOLD FOR ADC," USMS holds, commitments, and probation-related entries describe why someone stays in custody. Some explain what happens next. None of these words marks a fresh offense by itself. MySaline has even noted that recurring faces can simply be probation check-ins.

Labels describe custody, not outcomes. A release is not a dismissal. Want the legal result? Follow the case number into the court system.

Where Saline County Arrests Appear

Official sources should lead any Saline County arrest search. Secondary sites can still help you pin down a date or an agency. They lag, and they duplicate a record. They may miss a legal update or keep an old booking image around. None of them overrides the sheriff, the jail, the issuing court, or a sealing order.

The MySaline archive is the strongest local blotter around. RecentlyBooked offers a rolling recent window. Busted Newspaper and Mugshots.zone go deeper into county archives, and Arrests.org allows county browsing. All of them are unofficial. Their arrest and photo entries can be stale, so check each one against the original agency and court.

Saline County Arrest Agency Mix

The Arkansas DPS Arrest by Contributor table is the number to trust for agency-level Saline County arrest counts. Its 2022 Group A figures list 880 arrests by Benton Police. Bryant Police reported 518. The Saline County Sheriff’s Office logged 415. Haskell Police logged 71. Shannon Hills Police logged 45. Those numbers reflect arrests each agency reported for that year. They are not current bookings or unique individuals.

880Benton PD Group A arrests reported for 2022
518Bryant PD Group A arrests reported for 2022
415SCSO Group A arrests reported for 2022

The Saline County Detention Center draws arrestees from several departments at once. Those totals explain why. Benton and Bryant police both book people there. So do Haskell and Shannon Hills officers, alongside SCSO arrests. A city’s share of reported arrests says nothing about a single person’s case.

Saline County Recent Arrests by City

Every city in Saline County builds its own police record when an officer makes an arrest. The Saline County Detention Center then handles the shared custody side once a booking follows. Those are two separate paper trails. The city pages below keep them apart.

A city news page covers police incidents, not custody. It is not the county jail roster. A city incident number points you to the police report. A county booking number points you to the jail intake record instead.

Read a Saline County Arrest Record

Arkansas sets out what a jail intake record should hold. The rule is 12 CAR §50-503. It requires accurate intake and population data. Times of arrest, confinement, and release all belong in the file. So does the reason for confinement, the offense class, and the officers or agencies involved. Warrant or commitment details and standard identifying data round it out. A public roster or news post may show only a slice. It is not the full record.

FieldWhat it shows
Name and identifying dataThe person connected to the intake, subject to lawful redaction
Booking numberA reference for that jail intake
Booking date and timeWhen jail processing was recorded
Arresting or confining agencyThe department tied to the arrest or hold
Booked charge or reasonThe charge or legal basis reported at intake
Warrant, hold, or commitmentAnother order or agency basis for custody
Bond and court referenceRelease terms or case link when included
Custody or release statusThe stage recorded by the jail at that time
Booking photographAn identification image if displayed or lawfully released

Each record answers a different question. A roster result tells you who is in custody right now. An arrest report describes what police did. The booking record documents jail intake. The court docket tracks filings from there. Keeping the four straight keeps a booked charge from being repeated as a final judgment.

Booking
The jail intake process after an arrest or commitment.
Bond
Conditions or money set for release while a case is pending.
Arraignment
An early court appearance where charges and pleas are addressed.
Disposition
The court-recorded outcome, such as dismissal, plea, acquittal, or conviction.
Detainer
A request or notice that another authority may have a custody interest.

Saline County Mugshots and Arrest Photos

A booking photograph exists for one purpose: identification during jail processing. The official roster page does not promise that every Saline County result includes one. Photo availability simply varies. Check the portal first. Then ask SCSO for the releasable booking photo tied to a known name, booking number, and date.

The Arkansas Department of Corrections search is a separate photo source. Profiles there may carry an official offender image once a person enters state custody. It skips many recent county arrests. It also misses people awaiting transfer and anyone already released. Federal BOP results offer no county-style booking-photo gallery. VINE handles status alerts, not photographs.

Local news and unofficial county sites sometimes repost photos. Those copies can outlast the roster or miss a later correction. Treat them as reposts, never as a fresh booking photo of record.

Request Saline County Arrest Records

For a booking record or arrest report, start with the official SCSO Information Request Form. It lists the Saline County Sheriff’s Office at 735 S. Neeley Street, Benton, AR 72015. The phone is (501) 303-5609. The fax is (501) 303-5747, and email goes to FoiaRequest@scsosheriff.org. Expect to give requester and subject details and dates. Also include relationship information and proof of Arkansas citizenship.

  1. Select “Booking Record” and “Arrest Report” only when both are needed.
  2. For an image, describe the “booking photograph associated with” the name, booking number, and date.
  3. Identify the arresting agency and date range. A narrow request is easier to locate and review.
  4. Ask for releasable nonexempt portions and an explanation for any withholding.
  5. Request a current fee estimate before choosing paper, electronic media, or mailed delivery.

The form promises a response within three business days after the FOIA Analyst receives it. That response may deliver a record. It may report that none exists, cite an exemption, or send a redacted copy. It can even name another custodian. Fees depend on the SCSO cost document in effect. They also vary by the medium requested. Ask for the current quote before assuming any old amount.

For broader context, turn to the Arkansas Attorney General FOIA resource. It lays out state access principles and fee limits.

Arkansas Attorney General Freedom of Information Act resource page

The state page adds helpful context. It does not hold the files. SCSO keeps its own booking records. Detention records stay with the sheriff's office as well.

Why Saline Records May Be Redacted

The SCSO FOIA Statement lists what may come out of a record. Juvenile names lead the list. Dates of birth, medical details, witness contact data, and home addresses may also be removed. So may driver-license numbers, Social Security and account numbers, and biometric material. An open law-enforcement investigation can be exempt under Arkansas Code §25-19-105. Releasable portions should be split out when possible.

A redaction signals a legal restriction or privacy rule, nothing more. Ask which exemption applies. Then request every nonexempt part of the record. Juvenile and sealed matters demand extra care. The public roster never equals the full agency file.

Note: The three-business-day statement sets the response window. It is not a promise that every requested item gets released.

Arkansas Arrest Photo and Removal Law

Arkansas Code §4-75-102, passed as Act 450 of 2021, takes aim at “publish-for-pay websites.” A qualifying written request must include the person’s name, date of birth, arrest date, and arresting agency. A covered operator then must offer a free way to verify receipt and remove the booking photograph within five business days. Payment cannot be demanded for that removal. The statute adds civil remedies and Attorney General enforcement.

Important: The law does not order every sheriff, court, news outlet, or accurate public-record source to erase an arrest. It addresses the publish-for-pay conduct defined in the statute.

Sealing works through the courts, not through a website request. The ACIC forms page is the place to start. It offers petitions covering arrests, dismissals, acquittals, cases never filed, and several conviction categories. Who qualifies depends on the situation. Arkansas Code §16-90-1409 opens a petition route when charges were not filed within one year. Its neighbor, §16-90-1410, handles nolle prosequi, dismissal, acquittal, and a decision not to file. Once ACIC receives an order, it has 30 days to finish its part.

Publishers raise a separate set of issues. Google's outdated-content tool can refresh a stale search result after a source page is corrected or removed. It cannot delete the source itself. RecentlyBooked follows a no-fee policy for qualifying suppression or correction requests, and Busted Newspaper posts its own request process. Mugshots.zone and Arrests.org both display removal controls, though their terms and outcomes may change. Work through each publisher's free process with your legal documents. Before paying any removal demand, weigh the Arkansas statute and get legal or Attorney General guidance. The Arkansas Act 450 source page carries the legislative background behind the state rule.

Arkansas Act 450 and HB1437 legislative page

The legislative record anchors Arkansas photo removal law. Go to the official text first. A private vendor's claim is not authority. Saline County readers deserve the statute itself.

Saline Booking Records Outlast Rosters

Arkansas Code §13-4-404 treats booking photographs and detention logs as county jail records. The retention floor is at least five years. Destroying anything sooner takes an order of the county judge on the sheriff's recommendation. Section 13-4-401 adds rules for older sheriff records. Notice to the Arkansas State Archives is required before records over 50 years old are destroyed. Neither statute promises five years of public web access.

Start a booking search, new or old, with SCSO. The Saline Circuit Clerk and Search ARCourts hold the court side. They do not necessarily hold the jail photo. The Arkansas State Archives offers finding aids and historic county collections. It does not claim custody of modern Saline County booking images. Ask SCSO directly. Did the file stay with the Sheriff, or move to another custodian? Was it sealed, or disposed of under an authorized order?

Saline County Warrants and Wanted Checks

The Saline County Sheriff's office lists no public warrant-search portal and no county most-wanted page. Older official material once showed those menu categories. Dead or historic navigation is not a live list. For a county warrant question, contact the issuing court, and confirm the proper sheriff contact through the administrative office at (501) 303-5609.

The Benton Police warrant page stands apart as a city resource. Entries there show names, warrant dates, and charges. That does not mean a warrant is still active. It also says nothing about county jurisdiction. Anyone who believes a warrant is wrong or already resolved should call the issuing court or a lawyer.

Never approach, follow, or confront a person named on a wanted entry. Call 911 in an emergency. Non-urgent tips belong with the agency's non-emergency route. The Sheriff's official crime-tip number is (501) 303-5744.

After a Saline County Arrest

Once an arrest becomes a case, the court record carries the story forward. Search ARCourts covers a lot of ground. Per the Arkansas Judiciary, it can show parties, judges, filings, charges and dispositions, future events, judgments, and selected public documents. Some material stays offline. A new case can also lag a jail booking. An empty first-day result does not settle the custody question.

The Saline Circuit Clerk serves the 22nd Judicial Circuit. The office sits at 200 North Main in Benton, phone (501) 303-5615. District courts handle matters tied to Benton, Bryant, Alexander, Bauxite, Haskell, and Shannon Hills. Match on name, date, and case number whenever you can. The Search ARCourts portal is the official online route.

Arkansas Search ARCourts public case search portal

A Saline County arrest leaves two tools. The court search follows the charges. The jail roster answers custody. Each record stays in its lane.

Saline Detention Expansion Context

County audit materials describe approval and contracting. The work covered an addition to the Saline County Detention Center. The contractor's scope covers two 82-bed pods. It also includes infirmary and administration space, courtyards, and 11,258 square feet. That history explains why capacity numbers surface in jail coverage. It says nothing about any new roster policy. Nor does it cover a photo rule or update cycle. Never read a capacity figure as proof that a specific person was booked. Only the roster, the jail, a VINE result, or a direct record response answers that.

Saline Custody Beyond County Jail

After a transfer to state custody, turn to the Arkansas DOC inmate search. Filters there cover ADC number, county, name, facility, gender, offense category, age, and race. Profiles can include an official offender photo, sentence data, facility, and custody classification. Someone still held in the Saline County jail may not appear until the transfer goes through.

The federal side works differently. The Bureau of Prisons locator covers inmates from 1982 onward. It is not a county booking-photo gallery. A result reading "Released" or "Not in BOP Custody" does not clear every other system. ICE runs its own locator for immigration custody. A local "USMS hold" is a lead to check, not a disposition. For release or transfer alerts, use the VINE Arrest Check. It draws on qualifying state and county data. Court dispositions still live in Search ARCourts. Each tool answers one question, and no single result should be stretched past that.
